The Big Local Conversation

There were activities in Deighton, Sheepridge, Bradley, Fartown, Fixby and Cowcliffe. Organised by Ashbrow ward councillors and volunteers from local organisations. Participants could also request a home visit or take part online.
Ask Shelley
8th to 24th October 2019
We asked you about life in Shelley. Local volunteers and staff from Kirklees Council have been out and about in Shelley. We also held drop-in events, home visits and the option of taking part online. Shelley Community Association are using the results to update their village plan.

There were activities in Fieldhead, Birstall, Cambridge Road and Nova. Organised by Birstall and Birkenshaw ward councillors, local volunteers and Kirklees Council staff. There were drop-in events, home visit and the option of taking part online.
How do you feel about Huddersfield town centre?
8th July to 18th August 2019
We all have our own experience of a place. Kirklees Council colleagues were out and about in the town centre this summer asking you to share your experiences of your town. The results will help to inform the Huddersfield Blueprint.
Ask Meltham

Over 700 people took part in the Ask Meltham conversations, supported by a team of 30 local volunteers. The results were shared at a drop-in event in October 2019. Organised by Meltham Town Council.

Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing wanted to hear people’s thoughts on Holme Park Court, Bishops Court and the surrounding area. People took part in some drop-in activities. Staff from KNH and Kirklees Council were also out and about in the area.
Ask Shepley
11th to 31st March 2019
400 people took part in the Ask Shepley conversations. Volunteers worked through all the results then invited people to come along to one of their “Time to Decide” sessions in July 2019, to see the results and say what they’d like to happen next.
How good is Golcar
16th to 29th July 2018
We first tested out the Place Standard in Golcar, Cowlersley, Milnsbridge and Longwood. 240 citizens took part in the conversations. Watch our video and see the results.
