What will happen next?
Investing in our town centres
We all want to see our town centres revitalised and to do this we really need to know what people think about them.
Our town centres provide a range of business, cultural, leisure and local retail facilities and are also areas of local growth. Kirklees Council are investing £1.5m in Batley town centre, as part of our small town centres funding. We are also investing in other ways.
We know that how our towns look and feel is important in attracting people to visit them. We want our towns to be clean, environmentally friendly, and welcoming for children and families.
By contributing now, you can help to inform the improvements to Batley town centre, by helping us understand what’s important to you.
Streets for People
Everything we learn about how we can improve air quality, safety, cycling, walking and public transport will also be considered as part of the Streets for People scheme. This scheme will invest an extra £1m from West Yorkshire Combined Authority in making Batley town centre better for people. It has a particular focus on making it easier for people to visit, get around safely and enjoy spending time in the town centre, including cutting down on unnecessary traffic.
You can also add comments to the Batley – Streets for People map.
We’d really like to hear what you think about Batley town centre, to help decide how both these funds can best be used.
If you need any help taking part, please phone 01484 221000 (Kirklees Council) and ask for Ashley Fothergill, or email: email@example.com
