Batley town centre
Activity: Batley – Our town centre
Organiser: Kirklees Council, supported by Batley East and Batley West ward councillors
What we funded: Upgrading the visual appearance of Brunswick Street, with the aim of increasing public social space, improving pedestrian access and reducing anti-social parking (£50,000). Developing the local markets offer, working with commercial partners (£25,000). Promoting local community news and information (£5,000). Creating more local community events (arts, heritage, culture and leisure), working with community partners (£20,000).

Raising road safety awareness around schools, providing child shaped bollards (£2,264.48). Start up funding for setting up a monthly local market (£1,123). Local litter picking scheme (£359.75).
