The Big Local Conversation is happening in places across the Ashbrow ward. We’re supporting the Ashbrow ward councillors and volunteers from several local organisations, who will be out and about asking what people think of the area now and gathering ideas for the future.
Activities in Deighton and Sheepridge got under way at the Deighton Carnival on 29th June and will continue throughout July 2019. There will then be activities in Fartown, Bradley, Cowcliffe and Fixby.
We’re using a tool called the “Place Standard”. This is a way of helping to get conversations going about any place (it could be your street, neighbourhood or town), by using some simple questions. The conversations can take place at local venues or meetings, on the street, in schools and at local events. So there are lots of ways to get involved.
The volunteers and councillors want to hear your views, which they will use to help create a ward plan. This will say what people think about places in Ashbrow now, recognising the strengths of the area, and will make some suggestions for future actions, based on what local citizens have said.
Please look out for the Big Local Conversation team in the area. You can find out more about how to get involved on the Big Local Conversation web pages:
