What we funded in 2021 to 2022

We’ve funded £123,146.20 of projects and activities in East Bierley, Meltham, Shelley and Shepley, based on conversations with people in each local place.


East Bierley

Activity: Listening to East Bierley

Organiser: East Bierley Village Preservation Society, with Birstall and Birkenshaw ward councillors

What we funded: Extended speed reduction measures on local roads.

Amount: £50,000


Meltham

Activity: Ask Meltham

Organiser: Meltham Town Council

What we funded: Improving the crossing on Huddersfield Road, outside the Co-operative, including widening the footway, dealing with cellars and providing the equipment. Also feasibility work and statutory notices for this work.

Amount: £50,000


Shelley

Activity: Ask Shelley

Organiser: Shelley Community Association

What we funded: Providing a Speed Indicator Device, which will be moved every three months but will remain in Shelley.

Amount: £9,548


Shepley

Activity: Ask Shepley

Organiser: Shepley volunteers

What we funded: A large storage container, to provide extra storage for equipment used by community groups, festivals and events (£2,000). Removing a portion of the wall near Shepley Library, to help with safe parking and access (£2,050.20). Providing a Speed Indicator Device, which will be moved every three months but will remain in Shepley (£9,548).
