Linthwaite and Cowlersley – ‘Next steps’ results

What we did

In May 2019, volunteers from Pride in Linthwaite worked with the Colne Valley and Golcar ward councillors and staff from Kirklees Council, to speak to people from Linthwaite and Cowlersley about what life is like there. The results from Listen to Linthwaite and Listen to Cowlersley were published in September 2019.

After a spending time becoming a very busy mutual aid group during Covid, Pride in Linthwaite have since created further opportunities for local people to get involved. The group organised six new workshops, along with visits to local venues, events and schools. This included drop-in sessions at Cowlersley Community Out of School Club, The UCHM, The Sair, at the Linthwaite Leadboilers Festival and outside the Premier Store on Manchester Road, and visits to local junior schools.
