Listening to Ravensthorpe – get involved

We’re pleased to be supporting our Housing Growth colleagues at Kirklees Council who are aiming to find out what residents and local business owners think of life in Ravensthorpe.

Listening to Ravensthorpe is encouraging people to think about their unique local place and share their experiences and ideas. We’re using the Place Standard tool to do this. It’s a way of helping to get conversations going about any place (it could be your street, neighbourhood or town), by using some simple questions.

The activities in Ravensthorpe are running from 21st June to 1st August 2021.

The more people who take part, the more insight we’ll gain about what really matters to people in the area. Citizens can take part online and we’re also sending a postal questionnaire to every household and business in the area, along with a freepost envelope.

What people tell us will help to shape proposals for the next stage of the Dewsbury Riverside development, which Ravensthorpe is a near neighbour to. This is just one of the ways in which the results can be used to help make our local places even better. We will also share what we learn with local councillors, council services and other organisations, to help everyone understand what matters most to you.
