Ask Brockholes – get involved

Look out for your Holme Valley North ward councillors and council officers, who plan to hold lots of conversations in Brockholes, in February and early March 2022. We’re aiming to find out what citizens think of life in the area. We are really keen to hear people’s experiences and ideas.

Ask Brockholes is encouraging people to think about their unique local place and share their experiences and ideas for the future. The conversations will cover a broad range of themes, such as ‘Play and recreation’ for places such as Brockholes Rec, and ‘Traffic and parking’ so we can talk about speed limits, for instance if we wanted to introduce a 20mph zone around the school. You can tell us about anything that matters to you about life in Brockholes.

To do this, we’ll be using a tool called the Place Standard. This is a way of helping to get conversations going about any place (it could be your street, neighbourhood or town), by using some simple questions.

The activities in Brockholes are running from 26th February to 12th March 2022.

The more people who take part, the more insight the ward councillors and the council will gain about what really matters to people in the area. Citizens can take part online, but council officers will also be out and about in Brockholes and running drop in sessions at Brockholes Village Hall.

Holme Valley North ward councillors hope the results will give a voice to local citizens and encourage more people to get involved in shaping the future of their local place.
