Ask Walpole – get involved

Look out for council officers, our partners and local volunteers in Walpole, or at local events. We’re aiming to find out what citizens think of life in the area. We are really keen to hear people’s experiences and ideas.

Ask Walpole is encouraging people to think about their unique local place and share their experiences and ideas for the future. This might include bringing the community centre back to life, as a place for groups of all ages to participate in activities, supporting volunteers at the Balmoral Avenue and Walpole Tenants and Residents Association with more ideas for making Walpole nicer, or getting involved with some of The Eden Centre’s community projects.

To do this, we’ll be using a tool called the Place Standard. This is a way of helping to get conversations going about any place (it could be your street, neighbourhood or town), by using some simple questions.

The activities in Walpole are running from 23rd August to 10th September 2021.

The more people who take part, the more insight the group, the council and our partners will gain about what really matters to people in the area. Citizens can take part online, but council officers and our partners will also be out and about in Walpole and attending local events to talk with citizens.

Walpole and Balmoral TRA hope the results will give a voice to local citizens, including those who might not be active in civic life, and encourage more people to get involved in shaping the future of their local place.
