Listening to Birstall – 2026

How do you feel about where you live, work or spend time?

We’d like to talk to you about Birstall and hear your views about life in the area. This is your chance to share what you value, what could be better and what matters most to you.

Listening to Birstall 2026 builds on previous work by local councillors. and is being supported by Birstall Neighbourhood Forum. The project will help make sure the Neighbourhood Plan is shaped by the voices and experiences of local people.

Why get involved?

A Neighbourhood Plan must be shaped by local people and formally consulted on before it can be adopted. However, not everyone takes part in surveys or responds to planning documents.

This project creates informal and accessible opportunities to listen to people at an earlier stage. What you share will help:

  • Shape the geography and boundaries of the Neighbourhood Plan
  • Identify local priorities, concerns and opportunities
  • Shape and influence future statutory consultation
  • Include voices that are not always heard, including local businesses

You don’t need to know anything about planning to take part — we’re just interested in your experiences of Birstall.

Who can take part?

Anyone who lives, works, studies, runs a business in, or regularly spends time in Birstall is welcome to get involved.
