This summer we’re asking how people feel about visiting, working in or living in Huddersfield town centre. You might like to help by hosting one of our drop-in activities at your venue or event.
What we learn will help to influence what happens next in Huddersfield town centre. The results will be considered as part of the next stage of The Huddersfield Blueprint, which is a ten-year vision to create a thriving, modern-day town centre.
This is just one of the ways in which the results can be used to help make our local places even better.
Staff from Kirklees Council and local volunteers are out and about in the town centre from 8th July to 18th August 2019. We’ll also be hosting sessions for students in the autumn.
We’re using a tool called the “Place Standard”. This is a way of helping to get conversations going about any place (it could be your street, neighbourhood or town), by using some simple questions.
As well as being out and about, we’re running drop-in sessions at places in the town centre. If you’re part of a business or local organisation based in Huddersfield town centre, you’re very welcome to get involved.
It’s easy to take part – you provide the space for conversations to happen in, we provide the materials and volunteers. We can also provide training if you’re interested in running activities yourself.
